"Who Let The Dogs Out": 25 years since this mega hit

Fun, vibey and so many dogs!

It was a new millennium and Caribbean band Baha Men were thrust into the global spotlight like they could never have believed.

A massive hit song, that is still regularly played, especially at sports games across the planet, was unleashed: "Who Let The Dogs Out."

Chances are, no matter how old you are, you know this song!

Sarah, from 104.7 The LIZARD, caught up with the band and heard from guitarist Herschel Small about the extraordinary world response in the year 2,000 to the cover of the Anslem Douglas number.

The song won a Grammy Award in 2001 as well as Billboard Music Awards among others.

Small explained the band didn't initially believe it would be a hit, but producer Steve Greenberg convinced them otherwise.

Newer band member and lead vocalist Dyson Knight told Sarah they're currently promoting a number of new songs including "Smile". He explained they're focusing on building the connection with fans of "Who Let The Dogs Out" while reminding audiences they have a lot more to offer.

"More people know the song than know the band," Knight said, noting they work hard at acknowledging the love fans have for their most famous hit while reminding them they have produced other great songs that fans will love.

The band regularly performs gigs, mainly in the United States and will return to Disney World next month.
