Kelowna teen heading to national pageant

Inspirational teen hits right note with judges

Local teen Kendall Wentland is set for a national teenage pageant after wowing judges in Vancouver.

After completing Kelowna’s six-month Lady of the Lake program, Kendall was selected through a province-wide interview process to represent the city of Kelowna at the BC provincials in April.

Her platform, “Be the Change You Want to See,” promoting youth volunteerism, impressed judges and helped her secure a spot among eight finalists moving on to nationals.

She'll now compete at Miss Teenage Canada in Toronto, where she’ll take part in interviews, public speaking, charity work, and a talent competition; performing a concerto on oboe.

She is currently seeking sponsors for her journey.
